i’m michael. i’ve started making art with a computer in kindergarten. as a teenager, i got a public access TV show. in 2012 i got my degree in digital media from oberlin college. since then, i’ve used my skills to build a career working with countless companies, organizations and individuals. i love sharing my passion for digital art with others.
-
during our time together, i’ll help you develop the skills you need to be able to achieve your digital media dreams. here are some of the topics i cover:
• video production & post-production
• motion graphics & animation
• fundamental visual design principles
• fundamental photography principles
• photo retouching and manipulation
• adobe creative suite fundamentals
• squarespace development -
i’m typically available evenings from 6p-9p and most weekends from 10a-6p.
-
i typically work with people in person. various public places around the madison area – it’s a coffeeshop or the library. if the sun is shining we could be outside. i may be open to considering remote sessions after a few in-person lessons.
-
i use a sliding scale model to price my lessons.
this gives you a say as to how much you pay, and makes my offerings accessible to a broader range of people.
the lower bound is $40 and the upper bound is $60.

if my low end is too high for you, please consider reaching out anyway. i’d rather find a way to meet you where you’re at than not teach you at all.
on a related note, i also enjoy donating my time to worthy causes. if you’re affiliated with one and you think i could be of service, please get in touch.
